Room 2 have been reviewing a range of senior books to see what we would like to purchase for our library!

These are some of our first impressions....

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas is a sad story based on true events. It is about a boy called Bruno who moves to go with his family to his Dad’s work. But little did he know his dad worked at a concentration camp. He meets a boy of which is on the opposite side of the fence. What does this mean and what will happen?

This book is more than you think it is. It is a very interesting book to enjoy. It might just make you cry. It is very detailed. You should really buy this.

Age: 13 and older (senior).

Star rating 5/5

This is a good ;descriptive book and I think lots of people would like it.

It is about a virus that strikes Earth.  The main character is a scientist who is looking for his sister.  He finds his own sister is keeping a secret about virus!  What is the secret?

I would like to read some more of John Lockyer’s books.

The AGE group this book is suitable for is 12 years and up.

Book rewiew on: Eating Plums in Bed by: Joy Cowley & Jenna Packer

It's about a boy who decides to ignore his mum, when she tells him NOT to eat plums in bed. Then the stone falls under his bed and a tree grows and takes his bed out the window! He stays outside for a long time, through wind, snow, spring and summer, while his mum and dad are apparently thinking. Finally they got a ladder and took him down, and bought a new bed for him.
