On Wednesday the 16^th of June, the two Year 5/6, 7 and 8 teams had a netball tournament in Paeroa. It was a great day. The two year 5 & 6 teams won along with the Year 8’s. The Year 7’s narrowly lost their final and ended up runners up. Stanley Avenue was well represented and all the girls should be extremely proud of their efforts.

The Year 8 team performed very well. We played three games and won them all. First we played Paeroa, we won 27 / 7, our second game was against Mercury Bay, we won 19 / 4 and then we played our last game against Manaia which we won 27 / 5.

Huge congratulations to all the other teams. The effort, determination and comment of all the girls were commendable, and the support that was given to each other from the side line demonstrated our understanding of being a Team Player both on and off the court.

We would like to say a big thank you to Maree Gore, Angela Cre’ne and Julie Burndred for umpiring the games. Also a big thank you to our coaches and managers, Shelly Teague, Shay Workman, Tracey Burgess, Julie Burndred, Vicky Jones and Stacey Davie. Thank you to the parents who provided transport and to Mr Booth and Vicky Jones for organising the fantastic day.
