What do we want for our children’s future?
In 2008 Stanley Avenue School began consulting with students, staff and parents on what our ‘dream learner’ would look like. Students starting School in 2009 will be entering university or the workforce in 2022. We don’t know what the future will hold for them, what jobs they will have, what knowledge they will need. BUT...... We know what is going to be vital. We want to develop learners that know what to do when faced with a problem. To learn, unlearn and relearn. This led to the forming of our School’s mission.
Stanley Avenue School’s Mission-
‘Educating lifelong learners’
It is our aim to develop in our students the capability, skills and attitudes that will enable them to be learners for life. Students who are in charge of their learning.
Our Values
Our values are reflected in everything we do. Staff are key holders of these values and model these for students. These values are referred to daily in the classroom and everyone is accountable to them.
We...
Respect and support others
Focus on learning
Care for our environment
Work as a team
Our Vision

Our vision of the Stanley Avenue Learner is very powerful. Every decision we make uses the vision. An example of this is purchasing the two pods of net-books to allow teachers and students to have access to the internet whenever it is required. This enables students to practice elements of being an inquirer anytime and anywhere.
